I began to learn Esperanto in 1977 (on november 11). In 1980 I became press officer of the German Esperanto Youth. I am still enthusiastic about press relations; now I am press officer and spokesman of the German Esperanto Association.

Around 1981 I passed the superior language proficiency exam of the German Esperanto Institute, in 1982 I began to interpret Esperanto on various occasions. I still had to learn a bit when in 1993 I began to speak Esperanto with my newborn daughter.

Around 2001 with some friends I founded the association "EsperantoLand"; since then I am the president of this association. I am the chief organizer of its annual "Novjara Renkontiĝo", a gathering with some two hundred participants taking place for one week at the end of the year.

I studied mathematics and linguistics (especially phonetics). I like to read management books, to walk, to swim and to bicycle.
